Welcome

We’re so thrilled to be welcoming our first child in February 2021! As we continue to navigate this challenging time during a global pandemic, we’d still like to include our friends and family where possible. We had planned to keep our baby off social media, but came to the compromise of communicating baby updates through our private Facebook group. We’d appreciate keeping any and all baby posts solely in this private group. Please message Ryan or Julie if you have any issues joining the Facebook group.

While you’re here, please feel free to fill out our Baby Prediction form! If you’d like to celebrate Baby B with a gift,  our registries are listed below – however we recognize this year has been incredibly difficult for many people and appreciate any kind of well wishes.

Predictions
and Advice

We’ve set up a virtual form so you can send in your predictions for Baby B. Will they have Dad’s blue eyes? Mom’s artistic intuition? Submit your guesses and be sure to sign your name at the end so we know who it’s from. We plan to save these for Baby B to look through when they’re older. We’ll also be sharing some of our favorite responses in the Facebook group.

Registry

We’re so appreciative of any gifts or well wishes from our family and friends! With the ongoing pandemic, we will not be having an in-person shower. But we’ll be sharing gifts we’ve received along the way through the Facebook group. Thank you all for your love and support as we venture into parenthood!

FAQ

Some common questions we’ve gotten:
  • Do you know what you’re having?
We do, but we’re keeping the sex a surprise until birth!
  • Are you sharing potential baby names?
    We’re also keeping the baby’s name a surprise 🙂
  • How will I know what to gift if we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl?
Shockingly, there are so many other colors besides pink and blue!  We hope he/she is an explorer, a lover of nature, a scientist, an artist, a thinker, a sports player, a food lover, a doer, etc. Please don’t think of gender-neutral as color-neutral – rather that the full spectrum of fun, color and theme is open to enjoy. Animals (especially cats and dogs), foods, space, the ocean, science, or any other expression of fun and adventure are great for toys or clothes. We also love black and white/bold patterns as these are the first colors baby will be able to recognize.
  • What do you need?
We’re so grateful to have already been gifted many clothes and books. We’ve highlighted some of our favorite items above on our registries.
  • Do you have a theme for the nursery?
The baby’s room is inspired by designs we found on our trip to Finland last year.  We loved the Scandinavian mix of natural wood with bright colors. See our inspiration board for more of our decorating ideas.
  • When are you having the next one?
…let’s get this one born first
  • How is Tuukka going to deal?
We’ll figure it out and he’ll adjust. Luckily we have lots of places for him to hide. Ryan thinks he’ll be a great protector and big brother.
